The wedding planning process is fun and exciting, and your cake tasting is one of the best parts! Our consultations are relaxed and informal--although we're quite serious about our cakes--without any pressure or pushy sales people. We've outlined the steps in the wedding cake process below. Wedding cake consultations.

Wedding cake consultations are by appointment at our studio located at 404 Termino Avenue in Long Beach (90814) and are complimentary. At your consultation, also called a cake tasting, you'll view our wedding cake design portfolio, discuss your design ideas, and taste our cakes. And here's the best part: we bake everything you request fresh for your tasting, so you'll know exactly how your cake will taste on the day of your wedding. At your tasting, you can sample up to three cake flavors and five fillings. Of course we are happy to accommodate custom flavor requests. You need not choose flavor combinations for your consultation: The tastings are done mix-and-match style with un-iced cakes and fillings on the side to maximize the possible flavor pairings.

Wedding cake tastings are fun and relaxed, with yummy cake, good coffee, some laughter, and lots of questions. (Be prepared: Erica asks every couple how they met.)

Although the tastings are complimentary, we do require a credit card to secure your appointment. Because we bake everything fresh for your tasting, if you need to cancel, we ask that you do so at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time. If you fail to keep your scheduled appointment and don't call to let us know, your credit card will be charged $25.

Consultations usually take about an hour, and we ask that you be prompt. 

The contract.

Once you select us as your wedding cake designer, we get to work on your contract. We require a 50% deposit to hold the date and ask that the balance be paid in full at least two weeks prior to the event. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and personal checks.

The design process.

Design doesn't just happen. Designs are conceptualized, created, and perfected. Whether you have a clear vision or just a vague idea for your wedding cake, we work collaboratively with you to discover the designer you have within. We'll help you determine the look and feel of your cake. The inspiration for your wedding cake can come from anywhere: a family heirloom, your invitations, a china pattern, a postcard. After your consultation, we will have a clear idea of your design concept, and will get to work on a sketch of your cake. Then we tweak the sketch until it is the exact cake you want. We want you to love your wedding cake!

Our online cake design gallery represents Erica's signature style, but you are not at all limited to these cake designs. Erica will work with you--giving you guidance as needed--to create a unique design for your wedding cake. In addition to wedding cakes, we are also happy to create cakes for birthdays, bridal showers, anniversaries, baby showers, or any happy occasion that calls for a cake.
