Tier I: Introduction to Cake Design and Decorating

In this introductory course, students learn the basics of cake design. Students will fill, frost, and cover cakes using a variety of techniques. Includes basic fondant, royal icing, and gumpaste work. Students learn classic French and Italian buttercream and royal icing recipes. Note: Students will be required to bring cakes to class sessions 2 and 3. Three four-hour sessions. Total of twelve hours of instruction. Limited to six students. 

Fee: $350 plus $49 materials fee. Total: $399. All materials included.

Fondant Intensive

This one-day course is designed for students who already have a background in cake design but want to improve their fondant skills. In this class, students learn the tools, tips, and techniques used by professionals to give their cakes a flawless finish. Students will practice covering both real and faux cakes with fondant, and learn ruffles, bows, flowers, and more. Light refreshments provided. Limited to six students. 

Fee: $225 including materials

Course Dates:  Sunday, 5/19/13 from 10am to 4pm. Light lunch provided.
